Terms of Service

Effective Date: October 1, 2026 Last Updated: October 1, 2026

Saive ("we," "us," or "our") is registered in Ontario, Canada. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Saive web application, apps, browser extensions, MCP server, AI assistant plugins, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and forms part of these Terms.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for it.

2. Your Account

You agree to give accurate information when you sign up and to keep it current. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account, including actions taken by apps and AI assistants you connect to it. Tell us at support@saive.my if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission.

3. Your Content

You own your content. Your saves, notes, highlights, folders, and profile ("Your Content") belong to you. Saive stores each save as a Markdown file you can export at any time.

The license you give us. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, and display Your Content only as needed to operate and improve the Service for you. That includes sending article text to our AI service providers to generate summaries, tags, and search embeddings, and showing Your Content to the people you choose to share it with. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we keep in backups for the period our Privacy Policy describes.

Shared metadata. When several people save the same URL, we may reuse the AI-generated summary, tags, and concepts for that URL across accounts, as our Privacy Policy explains. Your notes, highlights, and identity never cross accounts this way.

4. Content You Save From Others

The pages you save belong to their publishers. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to save, store, and share what you capture. The Service is meant for personal reading, research, and reference.

If you are a publisher and want content removed, contact support@saive.my. We may remove or disable access to content when we receive a valid notice, or when we believe it violates these Terms or the law.

5. Sharing and Public Content

Saves are private by default. Nothing you save becomes visible to anyone else unless you choose to share it, for example by:

  • turning on a public profile and marking saves public,
  • filing a save in a public folder, which anyone with the link can view, or
  • filing a save in a folder you have shared with specific people.

A save you file into a shared folder becomes visible to that folder's audience, whether you file it yourself or an AI assistant files it at your request. Content you make public may be viewed, copied, and indexed by others, and we cannot recall copies made before you unshare it.

6. AI Features

The Service uses automated systems to summarize, tag, and organize your saves. AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. Check anything important against the original source, and do not rely on AI output for medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice.

We may limit how much AI processing an account receives in a period. When an account passes its limit, the Service still stores the save; it may skip the AI summary and tags for that save.

7. AI Assistants You Connect

You can connect a third-party AI assistant, such as ChatGPT, Codex, or Claude, to your Saive account through our MCP server and its sign-in screen. When you approve a connection:

  • The assistant can read your library, including saves, notes, highlights, and saved article text, and can save new links to your library when you ask it to. It works within the same limits and sharing rules that apply to you.
  • Actions the assistant takes through the connection count as actions you authorized.
  • The assistant's provider receives the content the assistant requests and handles it under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not control third-party assistants and are not responsible for what they do with that content or for the answers they give.

You can end a connection at any time by removing Saive from the assistant. Deleting your Saive account ends every connection.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • save, store, or share content that is illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or harasses, threatens, or exploits anyone;
  • upload or distribute malware, or use the Service to attack or probe other systems;
  • access another person's account or data without permission;
  • get around rate limits, quotas, or security controls, or reverse-engineer the Service's security;
  • scrape the Service, or use automated means to access it other than through the interfaces we provide, such as our MCP server; or
  • use the Service in a way that overloads or disrupts it for others.

9. Fees

The Service is currently free. If we introduce paid plans, we will publish the prices and give you at least 30 days' notice before any change that affects you. We will not charge you without your agreement.

10. Our Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, and the Saive name and logo, belongs to us and our licensors. These Terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the Service as described here and nothing more. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

11. Ending Your Use

You can leave at any time. Export your saves whenever you like, and delete your account from Settings. Deletion removes your data as our Privacy Policy describes.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms, put other users or the Service at risk, or where the law requires it. Where it is practical and lawful, we will tell you first and give you a chance to export your saves.

If we shut down the Service, we will give you at least 30 days' notice so you can export your library.

12. Changes to the Service and These Terms

We may add, change, or remove features. We may also update these Terms. When a change is material, we will tell you by email or in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.

13. Disclaimers

We provide the Service "as is" and "as available." To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that saved content will always be retrievable from its original source.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the extent the law allows, Saive will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and CAD $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. You and we agree to resolve disputes in the courts located in Toronto, Ontario, unless the consumer protection laws where you live give you the right to bring a claim locally.
