Read your saves on an e-reader
The reading digest is a single EPUB built from your unread saves, one article per chapter. Download it from the web app, put it on your e-reader, and read off-screen.
Download the digest
- Open Settings in the web app.
- Find the export section.
- Click ⤓ Reading digest (.epub).
The file downloads through your browser like any other. Each download builds a fresh digest from your library at that moment.
What goes in
The digest selects for substance, newest first:
- Unread saves only. Anything you have already read stays out.
- Full articles only. A save qualifies when Saive captured the article text itself. Link-only saves and thin previews stay out.
- At least 250 words of body text. Short posts and stubs read badly as book chapters, so the digest skips them.
- Up to 15 articles per digest. Small on purpose: a digest you finish beats an archive you scroll.
If nothing qualifies yet, the download returns a plain message instead of a file. Save a few longer reads and try again.
Downloading changes nothing in your library. A save leaves future digests once you read it in Saive, so the digest refreshes as you read and save.
Get it onto your reader
- Kobo, Boox, Xteink, and most e-ink readers: connect over USB (or use
the SD card) and copy the
.epubinto the device's books folder. - Kindle: upload the file at Send to Kindle, or email it to your device's Send-to-Kindle address. Current Kindles accept EPUB directly.
- Phone or tablet: open the file in any EPUB app. KOReader, Apple Books, and Moon+ Reader all work.
Troubleshooting
- The download shows a message instead of a file. Your library has no unread saves with enough captured text. Save some longer articles, give processing a minute, then retry.
- An article you expected is missing. Check the save in your library. If it shows only a preview or a bare link, Saive could not capture the full text, and the digest leaves it out.
- The same articles keep appearing. The digest always holds your newest unread saves. Read them in Saive and the next download moves on.
